My name is Claire Houghton Ward and as anyone who knows me will tell you-I love flowers and I love weddings!

I am always honoured to make wedding flowers as I feel that it is a privilege to be involved in such an important element of your special day. I intend to keep the business small so that I can offer a personal, bespoke service. I am always happy to meet in person, always happy to have a coffee and talk weddings!

When I started planning my own nuptials I was so disheartened to learn that with many services, as soon as the word ‘wedding’ was mentioned the price doubled. I wanted to break the mould and provide high quality designs to fit each individual wedding budget. As I make bespoke designs that are made especially for the individual bride, I can cater for all styles and all price ranges.

I created Amaryllis in 2008 and it’s now run by me and my husband Seth. Everything from the initial consultation to the finished bouquet is done entirely by myself so that I get to know brides and learn exactly what they want. Every commission receives my individual attention. I do not mass produce bouquets and arrangements. It is important to me, and the brides who buy my flowers, that every commission is individual-even the flowers I make for my online shop are ‘one offs’.

I do not include price lists, not to be vague, but simply because every bride, wedding or event is different.  As I cater for all types of celebrations and budgets I prefer to give individual quotes based on the types of arrangements required.

I do try to use local produce and British suppliers and I always do my bit for the environment and recycle packaging too.
