Morchard Flower Festival

I have been rushed off my feet for the last week or so with weddings and the Morchard Bishop flower festival. It was the first time I had been involved and I was thrilled to be part of it. The theme was ‘Celebrations’ and it had certainly ignited the imaginations of the ladies in the village. They are all so talented and it was wonderful to see each person’s interpretation of their chosen celebration, and how they used flowers to depict certain moods or events. Marriage, Christmas, birthdays, the olympics, Valentine’s, Bonfire night to name but a few were all depicted with flowers. I made arrangements for ‘In Memoriam’ and a display for the reredos behind the alter.

The flower festival is a biennal event with next year being the produce festival, I’m looking forward to the next time

Busy, busy, busy…..

Since our studio opened in March I don’t think I have had chance to take a breath! As we are now able to offer a fresh flower service the enquires have tripled, I am not complaining I must add, it just helps explain why it is taking me so long to get the online shop up and running.

We have so many talented artists and artisans in the village it seems only fair to spread the word further afield. I was working in the studio yesterday and at last had the chance to step back and look at how wonderful it is. It is a special little shop in the heart of Devon that now has a special place in my heart. Ahhhhh!

Come and have a look, we are open every Sunday 11-4 and the second Saturday of the month 11-4. We are also more than happy to open by appointment.

Muffet Monro

The studio now stocks the fabulous work of Muffet Monro. This fantastic lady (with an amazing name!) creates beautiful ceramics. These mugs are a bargain at only £10.00-now who would rather have one of those for Easter than a calorie laden chocolate egg?! Muffet also produces bespoke wall tiles, made to order designs, paintings and gift cards. Come and see her work on display in Amaryllis Studio.

I met Caroline at a wedding fair at Northcote Manor. Not only is she a lovely lady but she is super talented, her designs are stunning.

I can just imagine floating down the aisle wearing one of her bespoke gowns and carrying a huge bouquet of David Austin roses! I just have to convince my hubby to renew our vows…mmm, watch this space!

Amaryllis Opening Weekend

Hoorah! The new Amaryllis Studio opened last weekend and is already proving to be a huge success. The studio is set in the heart of Morchard Bishop village in Mid Devon. It’s such a lovely, quaint cob building that suits Amaryllis perfectly. We were also excited to unveil our new venture, Art at Amaryllis. All of the art and crafts on display are created by local artists and artisans. I adore the latest masterpiece by Daniel Holmes-Adams. ‘Star Field’ is simply stunning.
